Tricks

Posted by Saddle Up on Oct 17th 2018

Teaching your horse tricks is a fun way to spend time together and strengthen your bond. It’s also a great thing to do during the winter months when it’s too cold or muddy to ride.

Many of the most common tricks you can teach your horse include bowing, making funny faces, kissing, etc…

Most tricks are taught using verbal cues and hand cues and using treats as incentives. The key to successfully teaching your horse a trick is repetition, repetition, repetition.

Get creative with what tricks or cues you’d like to teach your horse and see what the two of you can accomplish!
