Turning Your Stirrups In 5 Easy Steps

Posted by Saddle Up on Oct 4th 2017

Turning your stirrups is a very simple process with great benefits!

1. Set your saddle on a saddle stand.

2. Combine ½” of alcohol to ½ bottle of hot water. (or 1” of alcohol to a full bottle of hot water)

3. Spray this mixture directly above the stirrups, where the hobbles are and where the twist will be. This will help soften the leather and train it to stay twisted.

4. Put a broom stick or something similar through the stirrups to hold them in the turned-out position.

5. Let the saddle stay overnight.

And that’s it! Now you get to enjoy the comfort of fully turned stirrups!
